SMARTS Chess Club is dedicated to providing chess instruction and materials in a professional and courteous manner. Our goal is to provide caring and intelligent chess instruction to children in Frisco area
We know that through chess children learn important skills that will remain useful for the rest of their lives. Concentration, critical thinking, pattern recognition as well as sportsmanship are all part of the experience that playing chess provides.
Chess is also excellent for enhancing social skills. Children are taught to shake hands before and after a game, to show respect for their opponents and to accept responsibility for their actions. When children win chess games, they begin to believe in themselves. In fact the most important thing chess does for many children is to build confidence. A confident child is a child heading for success.
SMARTS Chess Club offers Chess classes taught by experienced Chess instructors with USCF rating of over 2000. Our premier Chess program is managed by Mr Baez with USCF rating of 2380. Mr Baez is born and raised in Brooklyn New York. Affectionately known as Mr. B, he has been bringing chess to children for over thirty years. He has attained the ranking of ICC Master player as well as Fide Expert providing the finest chess instruction in Dallas Metroplex area. Mr B is dedicated to

- Providing lessons for kids who are new to chess and also offer an environment that reaches out to those at an advanced or novice level
- Organize and promote USCF (United States Chess Foundation) affiliated SMARTS Chess Club tournaments.
- Providing environment to play with students of their chess rating.
- Providing Game Analysis for every chess match.
- Setting up Scholastic Tournaments.
