Meenakshi Singh Ph.D.
Meenakshi Singh, founder of SMARTS Club Education and Enrichment in Frisco, is an education expert whose experience runs the gamut from assistant college professor to Texas State High School Certified teacher in Science. Her Ph.D. is in the field of education and communication. She is a published author of many papers on Educational Pedagogy and Theories of Communication. Her interdisciplinary background is reflected in her institute’s classes. The subject matter of these classes includes curriculum that aligns with TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge Skills) for reading, math, writing, science, and social studies. Her expertise includes preparing the kids for all the standardized tests from CogAT to SAT with consistently high success rates e.g. 97% of our CogAT students have been selected in the Gifted and Talented programs offered by various ISD’s. Dr. Singh also trains teachers in successfully passing the content tests for Texas and other states. She frequently gets invited by the local schools for training the teachers for inclusion of science in the school curriculum.
She is deeply involved in the local communities as a volunteer, organizing various events, offering free classes and workshops for the public benefit at SMARTS learning centers. She also serves as resource person for various organizations and venues including Fun Asia Kids Club where she helps organize STEAM workshops or PTA events at local ISD’s.
STEAM is close to Dr. Singh’s heart. She serves as a coach for the in-house robotics team for FIRST Lego Leagues(FLL). She also mentors/ coaches local schools’ science teams. Her teams have consistently been successful winning many trophies and recognitions over the years including Judges Award, Champions Award, and Spirit Award ever since she started coaching robotics teams. In 2018, FLL team she coached was recognized by the Frisco City Council for their achievements. Her institute offers free family STEAM nights for families to come and enjoy science and engineering activities.
She is a certified adult (RYT) and Kids Yoga Teacher (RCYT) and has been teaching yoga for over 20 years. She is invited by local schools and Public libraries to conduct workshops for kids, teenagers, and adults.
