Pre-Algebra:
This course will offer higher-level understanding in middle school math which will prepare your child to perform well in higher-level algebraic courses. Some of the topics that students would be studying are exponents, integers, rates, ratios, proportions, expressions, equations, inequality, graphing, and operations with monomials and polynomials.
Geometry:
Kids will learn topics such as coordinate geometry, proofs and congruence, applications of similarity theorems, Geometric patterns, conjectures and constructions, Dimensional Analysis of 3-D figures, along with solving real-world problems. The course is aligned with the Texas TEKS for the course of Geometry and will prepare each to student to perform well in Credit by Examination tests as well as in the academic school year.
Middle School Creative Writing:
Using their imaginations and creative skills, kids will learn to deliver their ideas unto paper for many to enjoy. Students will become proficient in brainstorming, plot writing, character development along with being able to publish their writing at the end of the camp. The skills learnt would be ranging from grammar conventions, voice, text organization, sentence formation and word choice to write precisely. Emphasis would be to use tools to generate ideas and details in their writing.
Algebra 1:
During this course, students will explore and learn higher-level algebraic topics which will help prepare for SAT and ACT tests. The topics will include the relationship between quantities through equations and inequalities, understanding Linear and Exponential Relationships, slope and rate of change, describing Data with Measures of Central Tendencies, transformations in a coordinate plane, Pythagorean Theorem, parallel and perpendicular line, distance formula, equations of circle and more.
